My career as a woman in leadership, as an HR director and managing director, has involved working closely with legal professionals, leading transformations and addressing complex situations. My family’s close ties to the defence sector also instilled in me a sense of commitment and responsibility.

Observe

Across France and North America, I have observed significant differences in the resources devoted to preparing a case. I have seen the contribution of teams able to research, cross-check and organise material useful to a lawyer’s work. I have also seen professionals with few resources to carry out that work.

Amid all this, one difficulty remains: clients are asked to bring evidence when they sometimes struggle to understand and explain their own situation.

Face the ordeal

I later encountered this difficulty in my own life. In the face of the violence, stalking and infiltration of my private, professional and social environment that I have reported, I held to one principle: preserving my independent judgement and ability to act.

Reconstruct

I filed a complaint. The interviews revealed information I had not known. I needed to find the documents, reconstruct events and compare accounts. Give every assertion its source, and every uncertainty its place.
